How to Get to Guangzhou - Train

Many travelers from Hong Kong to Mainland China will take train from Hong Kong to Guangzhou directly. The Kowloon-Canton (Guangzhou) Railway (KCR) starts from Hung Hom in Kowloon, passes Shenzhen city, Dongguan city of Guangdong Province and reaches at Guangzhou East Railway Station, linking Mainland China with Hong Kong.

Kowloon Through Train (Ktt) is one of the main intercity railway service provided by KCR Corporation. The whole journey from Hong Kong to Guangzhou will take about 2 hours. Traveling by train is a good alternative for casual budget-conscious travelers since the train ticket price is about 1/3 that of an air flight ticket.

Travelers for business purposes can also start from Hong Kong to Guangzhou with a stop in Shenzhen, a booming economic city in Pearl River Delta. There are trains running between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, between Shenzhen and Guangzhou every day.

Stations Brief Introduction

Hung Hom Train Station: Also called Hung Hom KCR Station, terminus for trail travel into Mainland China. Located in Kowloon area of Hong Kong, the station has a variety of stores. The Metropolis Mall is a shopping centre beside the station.

Guangzhou East Railway Station: Located in the heart of downtown Tianhe District. Convenient to most places and hotels in Guangzhou downtown. Mainly for HK (Kowloon) to Guangzhou train terminal, and some domestic train between Guangzhou and other cities in Mainland China.

Guangzhou Railway Station: One of the biggest train stations in China. Mainly for domestic trains between Guangzhou and other cities in Mainland China.

Shenzhen Railway Station: Located in downtown Luohu District. Serving direct trains to Hong Kong, Guangzhou (East Railway Station) as well as other cities in China.
