Guangzhou Subway (Metro) Service

Construction of Guangzhou metro began in 1993 and the first line opened in 1997. Now Guangzhou has 8 lines in operation with 120 stations and 236 km (146.64 miles) of tracks. Total operational capacity is scheduled to exceed 600 km (372.82 miles) by 2020.
It is very efficient and convenient to the major areas of Guangzhou city by Metro and to Foshan city by Guangfo Line (linking Kuiqi Road in Foshan with Xilang in Guangzhou).
It is definitely a fast way to get to Canton Fair Pazhou Complex by Metro Line 8 directly, especially during the peak hours. The station name of Canton Fair Pazhou Complex is "Pazhou" (Line 8).
The ticket prices range from CNY2.00 to CNY16.00. Passengers could use Yangchengtong IC Card (only usable in Guangzhou) or buy the ticket (like Plastic Coin) through the TVM (Ticket Vending Machine) by using coins. If you have no Chinese coins, you may change at the Service Counter of each station. Then you may go through the ticket gates by placing the coin on top of the pad and taking it with you until you leave the station and insert the coin into the slot of the gate.
