What a Platinum recognized hotel in China!
Very fortunately we were upgrade without our request or additional charge to a big suit room with large toilet and shower room. 2 big TVs in bed room and sitting room. Called services were attended in just a few minutes. It's in a prestige area close to subway just around the corner. The checkin area is gorgeous...Everyting was just amazing!

My favorite in Guangzhou
I live in Macao and every time I go to Guangzhou to spend the weekend, I choose this hotel. It's very nice, the rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. The satf speaks good English and is very friendly. The hotel is located near by Taojin metro station (line 5), so it's very convenient and we can move trough the city using it. The surroundings of the hotel are also convenient, with lots of cafes and restaurants. I specially like the Vietnamese (in the back entrance street) - good food, very reasonable prices. The price is not cheap, of course, but overall it's worth it.

Great stopover stay
What a great hotel to stop at whilst we were transiting in Guangzhou. The hotel is so grand and the lobby is so beautiful. There's even a HSBC in the same complex to get cash as soon as you arrive! It's also just across the road from a 24hr Starbucks! The staff were so pleasant and helpful and the grounds around the hotel were lovely. We had a fabulous stay and would recommend.

very comfortable stay
Felt very comfortable and well taken care of. However, the bell boys could be more proactive in helping visitors with their luggage. Other than that everything else was very good.

easy access to the long journey buses
It was an excellent experience and we enjoyed our stay. The restaurant was good, specially the outdoor seating area near the pond with many colourful fishes and had a great view of water falls. The lobby was huge and beautiful. It was an easy access to the long journey buses - for travel to Shenzhen & Hong Kong - just outside the hotel.

good service, but need renovation
First of all, let me tell you what I like from this hotel: I feel the hotel has an excellent HR department, all of their employees try hard and are courteous, I love the gym and the location could not be better. Now with the cons, this hotel is old and the rooms are tired, please ask for the executive floor or youll get a room that would match your expectations if you somehow go through a time Vortex and end up in 1985 in the middle of Communist China, when the Garden hotel was the only game in town. This place is just simply obsolete and lacks spirit. I read some reviewers complimenting the breakfast, I believe I have become a snob of some short because I find the breakfast kinda boring, just an aimless trough with nothing original at all, I have come to expect salmon and other healthy and jummy fares from high end hotels. But I think that is the problem, the Garden hotel is no longer a high end hotel, it needs to find itself, do a massive makeover and find its spirit. The hotel is conveniently located by a subway station (Line 5, Taojin) If you need to get to the airport, take line 5 direction Wenchong, exit on the next station Ouzhuang, then take line 6 direction Changban for four stops, exit at Yantang and take line 3 to the airport. About 50 minutes, Guangzhou subway is modern and clean, I prefer it a thousand times over than most taxi drivers in China
