Industry''s positive outlook
The lighting industry is well established in Hong Kong, making it an ideal venue for a show of this calibre and magnitude. Total exports of lighting products were valued at US$1,125 million in 2009; the US and the Chinese mainland are its biggest markets, taking a 23% and 20% share respectively. Figures for the first three months of 2010 indicate encouraging growth in the market, with a 15% increase over the same period in 2009; emerging economies such as Brazil and Turkey are performing particularly well.
LED in the spotlight
By paying attention to trends in the lighting industry worldwide, the show offers the perfect platform for suppliers to meet the needs of buyers. At the 2010 show, more than half of the booths offered a variety of LED products, tapping into the increasing demand for highly efficient yet energy-saving lighting products, aligning with the global trend of environmental protection. The 2011 Spring Edition will be no exception - LED will, once again, be under the spotlight. Manufacturers of a wide range of LED applications, including indoor, outdoor and handheld lighting products, are encouraged to make the most of the opportunities the show presents.
In focus
As well as the LED Lighting zone and Green Lighting zone, other major sectors of the industry are also highlighted with specialist zones. There is the Decorative Lighting zone, catering to the demand for festive and decorative products, Lighting Accessories, Parts & Components, Lighting Management, Design & Technology and Technical Lighting. The zones ensure that exhibitors meet focused buyers easily and efficiently.
Information exchange
The lighting industry thrives on technological advancements; everyone who works in this dynamic sector needs to keep abreast of the latest developments. The fair also acts as an information exchange, thanks to the activities programme that includes seminars and networking events.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council utilises its expertise and global network of offices to the full to attract key buyers in the lighting industry to attend the fair. This ensures that exhibitors will meet with people with strong purchasing power from both mature and emerging economies.
