2011 Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition)
Asia’s brightest & biggest lighting show
The spotlight is on the HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2011 (Autumn Edition) as the best place to boost business and meet customers from all around the globe. This is Asia’s largest lighting event and the second largest in the world – in 2010 it attracted a record-breaking 2,028 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, representing a 13% increase over the previous year.
A record-breaking 30,000-plus buyers, an increase of 9% over the previous year, attended the fair. There was an encouraging increase in buyers from mature markets, including France, Germany and North America. And there was also a larger presence of visitors from emerging markets, including as, Brazil, Chinese mainland, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia and Thailand.
Target zones
It’s not just about size. The fair is also very effective in that it ensures exhibitors can meet the right buyers for their business. Themed product zones highlight key sectors in the industry.
The LED & Green Lighting Zone was a major focus in 2010, when it attracted 38% of all exhibitors, and is set to be even more important in 2011. Strong demand for LED, energy-saving and other environmentally friendly products in a huge range of applications, including residential, retail and architectural, is driving the growth in this industry sector. New technologies are continually being developed, and buyers are eager to be able to source the latest LED products at the show.
Another highlight of the fair is the Hall of Aurora, home to top-notch branded lighting collections – 383 brands from 27 countries and regions joined in 2010. The elegant surroundings of this zone reflect exhibitors’ products to best effect. Other zones are: Commercial Lighting; Household Lighting; Outdoor Lighting; Lighting Accessories, Parts & Components; Lighting Management, Design & Technology; and Trade Service & Publication.
