The fiscal revenue of Guangdong has reached 806 billion in 2014, with year-on-year growth of 13.9 percent, topping the whole country, reporter of Nanfang Daily learnt from Department of Finance of Guangdong Province recently.
In 2014, the increments of fiscal income for province, city and county level are 11.02 percent, 15.77 percent and 13.63 percent respectively. The gap of income growth between the different level governments is narrowing and the increment on city and county level are higher than provincial level. To some extent, it demonstrates that the self-insurance ability of the local governmental level is upgrading.
However, the growing scale of fiscal revenue is rather a tool than an achievement. The fundamental objective of fiscal income is for social development and people’s better life. In 2014, the expenditure for improving people's livelihood has reached 617.71 billion, accounting for 67.63% of the whole, with year-on-year growth of 0.45%. Based on the strategic arrangement of the provincial government, the money is mainly used for improving education, medicine and social security system, officer of Department of Finance told Nanfang Daily.
